1) have the children create a rainbow with the colours of the rainbow song, then play the ‘I can sing a rainbow’ song on your cd player, the children can point to the relevant colours as the song is played.
2) if you have access to coloured paper, you can create squares (or other shapes) of a few different colours for each child and put them on the desk and play Simon Says – touch the red square, put the blue square on your head, etc
3) use the same squares and have the children hold up the correct coloured square as you show a picture and ask – ‘what colour is the boy’s hat’, etc
4) take some fruit in a bag, ask the children to hold up the colour of the fruit before you take it out of the bag
You’re quite limited by not being able to move around, but if they can keep busy with their hands, it might make the lesson more interesting for them 🙂
